Now there are a lot of software for designing PCB board circuits, such as PORTEL99. POWER PCB, etc., but if you want to copy a ready-made PCB, it may seem powerless to use these software to copy. In fact, in the current electronic industry production, you need to copy A PCB circuit happens from time to time. Generally, we will send the PCB board to the PCB manufacturer to copy it for us, but if we want to make some small circuit changes, it will be more troublesome. For now, some of the software used for copying boards are industry-specific software, which you can download from the Internet or buy from the software market. Adjust it, so I deliberately studied the method of copying the board.
Required equipment: Scanner, computer, need to install PORTEL99 and AUTOCAD software.
1. First put the PCB board you want to copy into the scanner, start the scanner, and pay attention to adjust the brightness and contrast in the scanner.
2. Open the AUTO CAD software, create a new CAD file, select Insert bitmap image in the Insert menu, after selecting the image you want to insert, the Insert Image dialog box will appear, and select the ratio of 1:1 in the dialog box.
3. After inserting the PCB image, first draw a rectangular frame to cover the frame of the PCB image. Note that when drawing the frame, you must use the object tracking object lock point. If you do not draw the frame, the image will If you accidentally move it, you will rarely get it right.
4. Draw the component package, because the component package used in the PCB board we want to copy may not match the component package in PORTEL99, so we need to create the component package by ourselves, that is, draw the component shape in the PCB we want to draw , when drawing component packages, we need to count how many packages are used on the PCB board, each package only needs to be drawn, and after all packages are drawn, it is necessary to transfer them to PORTEL 99 for further processing .
5. Open PORTEL99, create a new PCB file first, and then select import CAD file in the file menu of PORTEL99 PCB editor, and import the CAD file with the component model drawn. After the import is successful, the PORTEL 99 PCB editor will appear Basic graphics for component packaging.
6. Create a new PCB component editor in PORTEL99, and then open the PCB component editor. After creating a new component, select a component package from the PORTEL99 PCB editor and copy it to the PCB component editor for component production.
7. After all the component packages are finished, put these packages into the PORTEL99 PCB editor, and then export it as a CAD file.
8. After opening the CAD file of the component package drawing, open the CAD file that imported the PCB picture before, and copy the component package drawing to the CAD with the PCB picture. At this time, you can close the CAD file with only the component package drawing , you only need to work in the CAD file with the PCB picture, arrange the components in order according to the component placement angle and position of the PCB picture, and pay attention to making more sub-components by copying and pasting.
9. Place the pads and vias: After placing the component package, the next job is to place the pads and vias. First measure the inner and outer diameters of the pads in CAD, and then in the drawing menu, select the ring Subitem, and determine the inner diameter and outer diameter of the ring. When placing the pads, the pads of the same size should be placed at one time, but the square pads and polygonal pads cannot be placed, although they can be filled in CAD. The method fills the polygon into a solid, but the filled solid will only have an empty border after being transferred to PORTEL 99. Therefore, if there are polygonal pads in the PCB diagram, we can use lines to draw the edges of the pads, transfer them to PORTEL99 and then place the corresponding pads.
10. Draw traces: After the pads are drawn, start to draw traces. Draw traces are drawn with polylines. In the draw menu, select polylines, determine the start width and end width of polylines, and then Start drawing. During the drawing process, if it is a straight line, you must choose the orthogonal alignment. If it is 45 degrees or other angles, you must cancel the orthogonal alignment. If the width of the center line of the entire circuit board is only a few specifications, we can also use ordinary lines to draw, but different line widths need to use different layers, and then edit the line width after entering PORTEL 99.
11. After the line drawing is completed, we will carry out the last work in CAD, placing the silk screen. If it is a text, we will use the method of placing a text box. If it is some irregular silk screen lines, we will use a polyline. Of course You can also draw directly with lines, and edit the line width after switching to PORTEL 99.
12. After the above steps, the work in CAD has been basically completed. If you don’t want to transfer to PORTEL, you can also ask the PCB manufacturer to make the board for you. You can also print out the layers you need and make them yourself. PCB, of course, my ultimate purpose of writing this article is to tell readers to transfer the drawn graphics to PORTEL, so we have to continue with the following steps.
13. Open the PORTEL99 PCB editor and import the CAD file that you have traced the circuit. Note that in the dialog box of importing the file, each layer of the CAD should correspond to each layer of the PORTEL99. This is very important, no matter what layer you are in the CAD What is the name of the PORTEL99, but you must know what layer this layer should be in PORTEL99. It is best to change the default line width.
14. Final editing. After importing PORTEL99, you need to make appropriate edits. For example, when we import, we put the lines and pads on the TOP LAYER layer. At this time, you should put all the pads on the MULTI LAVER layer. In addition, no matter which angle you adjust the silk screen text in CAD, it will be corrected when you turn to PORTEL 99. At this time, you have to adjust it according to the actual PCB.
15. If there is another circuit or silk screen, just do it according to the above method, and then import it to PORTEL 99 for integration, pay attention to the mirror image. Finally, check carefully against the pictures or PCB, and you can also make appropriate modifications and you're done.
In CAD, if you accidentally move the picture, all the lines you drew will be invisible. At this time, you need to remove all the pictures, then select all the lines you drew, and then move them to the picture. , Pay attention to select object tracking and object snap, so that the set can be very accurate.
